Dominic Thiem made of wax! Tennis star revealed himself

At the beginning of January 2021, Thiem took time for a sitting in Vienna, which took place under strict security conditions due to the pandemic. In the nearly three-hour session, over 250 measurements and 180 photos were taken. Since then, the figure has been worked on in London. A total of 20 artists worked on the likeness, 140 hours were needed to put in the hair alone, the eyes were hand-painted.

The 29-year-old also didn't miss the opportunity to donate his entire wardrobe, which he wore during his victory road at the US Open 2020, to his wax double. So the figure is wearing a red T-shirt, grey shorts including a headband. Even the tennis racket that the wax twin is holding comes from Thiem himself and shows him in a dynamic pose.

"We know that Dominic is very busy. His next tournaments are already around the corner. Therefore, it means a lot to us that he still took the time to unveil the figure himself. He was often requested by our visitors" said Arabella Kruschinski, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Vienna.

After the unveiling, he was immediately on his way back to the training camp, as the upcoming weeks will be very intense. The next highlight is the ATP tournament from October 22nd to October 30th in the Vienna Stadthalle, in which Dominic will participate. The real one.
