E.T. and Steven Spielberg landed in Vienna
- Thursday 30th January 2025
- Madame Tussauds
With the release of the film in 1982, US director Steven Spielberg created a true masterpiece: the Hollywood film, which became one of the most popular feature films, won four Oscars, two Golden Globes, a Grammy and many other awards.
Now both are a permanent fixture at the Vienna Tussauds branch and join the ranks of film icons such as Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Alfred Hitchcock. E.T. was already on loan in Vienna for three months in 2016 and enjoyed great popularity. E.T. now welcomes guests in the outdoor area. They can recreate the iconic film scene on a bicycle. Spielberg, in turn, can be found in the film area.
Speaking of Spielberg: the US American, who is also responsible for hit films such as „Schindlers List", „Jurassic Park" and „Indiana Jones", has already had a taste of Vienna's cinema scene by spending a day filming at the Lugner Kino.
„Steven Spielberg has created an absolute film classic with E.T., as well as other film series. Together, the two are an unbeatable duo and have more than earned their place in our wax museum with their achievements", says Lukas Rauscher, Marketing Manager of Madame Tussauds Vienna.
Further figure unveilings are planned for 2025 and will be announced in advance.
