Madame Tussauds Vienna celebrates 10th anniversary
- Thursday 1st July 2021
From Conchita Wurst to Marie Antoinette, from Gottfried Helnwein to Hermann Maier - since April 1, 2011, Madame Tussauds in Vienna's Prater has been the right place to get up close and personal with celebrities.
This anniversary has to be celebrated! The celebrations begin on Thursday, July 8th and last until June 2022. Many competitions, reviews, monthly figure highlights and other surprises are planned until next summer.
“In our anniversary year we have a lot of surprises in store for our fans. After all, 10 years of Madame Tussauds also means 10 years of gratitude to our visitors, who have diligently remained loyal to us, ”says Arabella Kruschinski, Managing Director of Madame Tussauds Vienna.
While there were 65 wax figures at the opening in 2011, the collection has now increased to 90.
Particularly impressive increases were Conchita Wurst's figure with the hosting of the Song Contest in Vienna, David Alaba with the Coca Cola truck at Christmas or the opening of the Sisi Uncovered Experience in 2018. Also at the various traveling exhibitions (by ABBA, Kim Kardashian and Sebastian Vettel to Grumpy Cat, William + Kate and Britney Spears) great emphasis was placed on diversity and the wishes of the visitors.
Speaking of wax figures: There will be zu-Wachs already at the opening of the anniversary:
“To celebrate our anniversary in style, a new figure will be on view in the newly decorated Hollywood room from July 8th. We won't reveal who it is yet, but the fans will like it. Rumor has it that it can also be seen in certain places in Vienna before it opens, ”revealed Kruschinski.
From Thursday, July 8th at Madame Tussauds in Vienna's Prater. Tickets can be booked in advance online at www.madametussauds.com/wien.
