In addition to numerous members of the press and visitors, celebrities such as Marika Lichter, Thomas Schäfer-Elmayer, Corinna Kamper and Caroline Athanasiadis also came to the wax museum to take a first look at the new addition, all of whom were delighted.
As a tribute to Ryan Gosling's iconic roles in ‘La La Land’ and ‘Barbie’, for which he was nominated for an Oscar, both the Kraml dance school and the Chris dance school presented two themed shows that brought the magic of the films to life through dance.
"Just in time for the Easter holidays, we can present one of the most likeable actors in the world to our guests, who was high up on the wish list", says Lukas Rauscher, Marketing Manager of Madame Tussauds Vienna. "His arrival will transform the Hollywood area, alongside the likes of Zendaya, Leonardo DiCaprio and Chris Hemsworth, into the ultimate star party in Vienna."
Exciting weeks lie behind the Madame Tussauds team: It took six months, almost 3,000 working hours and 20 artists to create the new figure. Each hair was individually inserted, the skin was painted with oil paint and the ocean-blue eyes were modelled exactly on the original using acrylic resin.
The likeness of the Canadian actor shows him in a ruby red suit with a blue shirt, the outfit was modelled on a GQ photo shoot from 2016.
Ryan Gosling can now be seen in the Hollywood Room at Madame Tussauds Vienna. Tickets can be booked online HERE.
