A very special honor was given to Stefan Kraft today: The successful ÖSV ski jumper unveiled his first own wax figure at Madame Tussauds in Vienna! With the participation of all media representatives, he made history: As the first ski jumper in worldwide Madame Tussauds history, he got up and close to see his wax double before going back to his final World Cup preparations.

A very special moment, as Stefan says: “It's just an incredibly cool feeling and a great honor that I am now immortalized as a wax figure and it's now next to so many other well-known personalities. The figure has turned out really great and looks incredibly realistic - it's almost a bit weird when I'm sitting right next to my "twin"."

At his personal request, Patrick Murnig acted as the laudator, who has accompanied Kraft as a personal coach and advisor for over ten years. Murnig himself described Kraft in his speech not only as a great athlete and outstanding ski jumper, he particularly emphasized his special personality - as a still down-to-earth, honest and unexcited person, but also as an ambitious, happy and mischievous guy.

Cooperation since December 2019
A close cooperation was of great importance on both sides. Kraft not only took part in a three-hour sitting in December 2019 - despite the full World Cup calendar - but also donated all of his jumping equipment. The figure himself wears a blue race suit, which Kraft has already worn in several World Cup competitions, as well as a pink ski helmet from his head sponsor and white gloves. His almost 2.5 meter long skis and the famous yellow bib for the overall World Cup winner are part of the outfit as well.

Winter scenery
The figure of the Salzburg resident sits on the beam and is embedded in the Tyrolean mountain landscape with a view of the Bergisel, one of Kraft's favorite ski jumping hills. At the attraction, fans can sit down next to him on the specially built ski jumping hill and experience the feeling of being a ski jumper themselves. Furthermore, a gondola was built into the attraction, which serves as an additional photo opportunity.

Arabella Kruschinski, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Vienna, says: “We are very proud that Stefan Kraft took the time to personally unveil his wax figure. We had to wait a long time due to Corona and are now very happy to present our latest figure to our visitors just in time for the start of winter."

Stefan Kraft can now be seen at Madame Tussauds Vienna. Tickets can be purchased HERE!
