How can I pay at Madame Tussauds?
You have various different payment options at the till point: cash (only EUROS) PIN, American Express, Maestro, Master Card and Visa. Online tickets can be paid for via internet banking (ideal), via Credit Card and via Paypal.
How can I pay at Madame Tussauds?
Madame Tussaud was born Marie Grosholtz in Strasbourg in 1761. Early-on she is fascinated by modelling famous people, including the French author and philosopher Francois Voltaire at the young age of 16. After stops at the Royal Court in Versailles, Marie married François Tussaud in 1795 before taking her exhibition on tour to the British Isles for the first time in 1802. Together with her sons, Madame Tussaud established a base in London at 'The Baker Street Bazaar' in 1835 before dying 15 years later.

What is the nearest train station?
Amsterdam Central Station is a ten-minute walk from Madame Tussauds. You walk out of the front of the station over the Damrak to the Dam. On Dam Square you will find Madame Tussauds between the Kalverstraat and the Rokin.
You can also take the tram to Dam Square: Tram 2, 11, 12, 13, 17 stop Magna Plaza/Dam.Tram 4, 14, 24 stop Bijenkorf/Dam.
You can also come to us with the North/South metro line 52. Get off at the Rokin stop and take the exit towards Dam Square.
What are the busiest and quietest times to visit?
It is not always possible to predict how busy it will be. Weekends are always busier than Monday to Friday. In school holidays it is busy every day.
Outside school holidays you can visit us the quietest after 15:00, in school holidays best after 17:00.
Where are the nearest bus stops?
The nearest bus stop is H20 Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal 176, located at the Magnaplaza in front of the Port of Cleve. More stops can be found here.
Is parking available at Madame Tussauds?
There are several parking facilities nearby, including the Rokin car park and Q-Park De Bijenkorf. These are both a short five-minute walk from Madame Tussauds.
I have already purchased tickets through a third party or an auction site. How can I reserve a time slot?
Please follow the instructions on the voucher the ticket seller send you.
Do you need to book a timeslot for Madame Tussauds?
Yes, you should book a timeslot in advance to visit Madame Tussauds in Amsterdam:
- Online booking: You can book a timeslot online to avoid waiting in line. You can also save money by booking online.
- City Card: If you're visiting with a City Card, you must book a timeslot in advance.
- Combination tickets: You can buy a Madame Tussauds combination ticket that includes The Amsterdam Dungeon and/or This Is Holland.
- Rescheduling: You can reschedule your visit for free if your plans change
I have a coupon. How can I redeem it?
If you have a coupon with a maximum number of people on it, the discount applies per person. None of our coupons are valid in combination with other discounts or in combination with the family package. Discount coupons always have a validity period. Check in advance whether your discount voucher is still valid to avoid disappointment.
With a discount voucher from the Postcode Lottery, you can order your tickets with a discount here. If you have bought your tickets elsewhere, you can reserve a date and time slot here. This ticket is only valid in combination with your previously purchased ticket.
Can I buy tickets at the box office?
This is possible, but then we cannot guarantee that you can enter immediately, if the time slot is full. Since this is regularly the case, we therefore advise you to buy a ticket via our website. You can pay at the cash desk in different ways: cash, PIN, American Express, Maestro, Master Card and Visa.
Can I change my timeslot after making a booking?
Yes, it is now possible to change your time slot or visit date up to 5 times via our Booking portal. To log in, you will need the confirmation number of your booking and the email address you used for the booking. If that does not work, you can contact the customer care center. Keep your order number (this starts with a 5) at hand.
I have a museum year card, can I use it?
With the Museum card you get a 25% discount on the door price at Madame Tussauds. You can order tickets via the following link: https://www.madametussauds.com/amsterdam/museumkaart/
Don't forget to show your valid Museumkaart(s) at the entrance on the day of your visit.
Merlin Annual Pass
Merlin Annual Pass holders receive a 15% discount on the regular entrance fee at the box office.
If you have tickets and want to change the date of your visit, you can use our booking portal. This service is free of charge. You can amend your booking up to 5 times.
Are all wax figures shown on the website always on display?
It may happen that an figurethat can be seen on the website is temporarily maintained at our Studios, so that this figure is unfortunately not visible in Madame Tussauds during your visit. On the website there is only a selection of images that can be seen in Madame Tussauds. You can find a list with our wax figures here.
Can I touch the wax figures?
Yes, you are allowed to touch the celebrities, icons and world leaders. Enjoy a game of football with Ronaldo, make some music with the world famous DJ Afrojack and show off your best catwalk moves to Anna Wintour!
Are there professional photographers in Madame Tussauds?
Yes, photos will be taken as you enter the museum, and you can purchase them later. After that, you can take your own pictures.
Can I bring my camera and take photos?
As a visitor of Madame Tussauds you can certainly bring a camera. Take a picture with Harry Styles singing or photograph yourself in the painting of the Mona Lisa! With the exception of the reception you can photograph and film anywhere. This material may only be used for personal, non-commercial purposes. Prior permission must be obtained for the use of such material for commercial purposes.
Can I buy photos from Madame Tussauds?
Yes, the photos taken in the attraction can be purchased afterwards. We also have the opportunity in the souvenir shop to immortalise yourself (together with family / friends) in a glass cube.
Free photo's and videos
During your visit, you can create several unique videos and have them sent to your own email address. Don't forget to register your photocard on arrival.

Other photo's including the entrance and IAMSTERDAM sign can be bought in the giftshop. These photo's can only be bought in Madame Tussauds Amsterdam during your visit.
How does the photo card and interactive videos work?
Photos will be taken upon arrival and you will receive a photo card. On the back are instructions on how to sign up. If you are registered with your email address, the interactive videos will be emailed to you immediately. If you do not register, we will no longer be able to retrieve the videos after your visit.
In the gift shop after your visit you have the opportunity to view and purchase the photos. When you buy you will receive a receipt with instructions on how to digitally download the purchased photos.

Does Madame Tussauds offer special school prices?
Yes, we offer special prices for school groups. Supervisors are required. More info can be found here.
Do Madame Tussauds offer discounts for large groups?
If you regularly bring groups to Madame Tussauds, we use special trade prices. For this you can best email us via info@madametussauds.nl Mention the name and address details of the company. You can also make a group booking via the website.
How does a combination ticket with a canal cruise work?
At Madame Tussauds, combination tickets can be purchased with a canal cruise here. On your purchase ticket there is a UNIQUE code (ticketnr) for Lovers which you can redeem here.
Here you select the number of tickets and the time slot. After this you can enter the UNIQUE code. Press buy and the tickets will be sent to your e-mail address.
The boarding point for the boat trip is located on the Prins Hendrikkade
Can I book tickets for The Amsterdam Dungeon?
You can save when you book a combination ticket for The Amsterdam Dungeon and Madame Tussauds Amsterdam right here on our website. Your ticket for The Amsterdam Dungeon is valid for 30 days from your visit to Madame Tussauds, so you don’t have to visit both attractions on the same day. The Amsterdam Dungeon is just a five-minute walk from Madame Tussauds. Please book a time slot for your visit to The Amsterdam Dungeon as detailed below.
Can I reserve a timeslot for The Amsterdam Dungeon?
When you book a combination ticket, you’ll select a time slot for Madame Tussauds. Afterwards, please use the booking portal to choose a time slot for The Amsterdam Dungeon. Note that your visit to the Dungeon must be within 30 days of your visit to Madame Tussauds.
Can I book tickets for THIS IS HOLLAND?
Yes, we offer a discounted combination ticket for entry to THIS IS HOLLAND and Madame Tussauds Amsterdam. This and our other discounted combination tickets can be found here.
After you have booked your combination ticket with THIS IS HOLLAND, you have to reserve your time slot for THIS IS HOLLAND here. Please note that entry to THIS IS HOLLAND without a valid time slot booking is not possible.

The address of THIS IS HOLLAND is Overhoeksplein 51 Amsterdam. On the IJ side of Amsterdam Central Station, a free ferry (Veer F3-Buiksloterweg) departs every 4 minutes and takes you to Noord within 3 minutes. Get directions on Google Maps here.
Is Madame Tussauds accessible for visitors with disabilities?
Yes, we are accessible to visitors with disabilities. Please inform us in advance if you require assistance. More information can be found here.
Can I bring a buggy/stroller into Madame Tussauds?
Yes, but keep in mind that there are several stairs in the attraction. Our staff will be happy to help you with lifting if necessary. There is no possibility to store the buggy and or stroller anywhere at Madame Tussauds.
Can I bring a (domestic) animal?
Unfortunately, it is not allowed to bring (domestic) animals within Madame Tussauds.
Can I bring my assistance dog?
We always allow assistance dogs! However, we advise you to come outside the peak times. This way you avoid the biggest crowds and the visit will be more pleasant for both you and your assistance dog. Would you like to inform us of a visit with a service dog at least 24 hours in advance? This can be done by calling 020 5221010 or by sending an email to info@madametussauds.nl.
Can I take luggage with me or leave it somewhere?
You can of course take your luggage into the attraction. Unfortunately, for security reasons, it is not possible to leave suitcases and/or large bags with us. Large suitcases and/or large bags can be stored at Lockerpoint Nieuwezijds Kolk.

How long does it take to visit Madame Tussauds?
An average visit to Madame Tussauds Amsterdam takes about an hour. Don't forget your camera to capture the experiences at Madame Tussauds!
Is it possible to skip the elevator at first and go by stairs?
Sure. If you do not like to take a mechanical lift, this can be reported to our cash register staff. Someone will then accompany you with the stairs. Please note: during the holidays it may take a little longer before an employee can guide you.
