Accessibility for Wheelchair Users

To ensure a safe and smooth visit for all guests, our trained staff will assist wheelchair users with our lift. For safety, we can accommodate up to three wheelchair users in the building at one time.

If there is a wheelchair user in your group, you must pre-book a wheelchair slot online at least 24 hours in advance of your visit.

We highly recommend booking your slot ahead of time, as these time slots can become fully booked. While we will always do our best to accommodate walk-in requests on the day, please be aware that this is subject to availability and is not guaranteed.

Although we don’t have disabled parking attributed to Madame Tussauds London, there are a number bays that can be used by those carrying blue badges on the streets surrounding the attraction, as well as several car parks which are a short distance away.

For any guest visiting who requires a carer we provide one carer ticket free of charge to ensure everyone can visit our attraction. 

On the day of your visit, you must present one of the following documents as proof of eligibility:

  • A valid Access Card
  • A valid Blue or Orange badge
  • Allowance Book or Letter confirming Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance (DLA), or Personal Independence Payments (PIP)
  • Attendance Allowance or Carer's Allowance letter of award
  • Incapacity Benefit books or confirmation letter
  • Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI) or BD8
  • International Proof of Disability (International Symbol of Access or similar must be printed on it)

Yes, we have three wheelchairs available on site, these are limited and subject to availability. To hire one, please speak to a member of the on-site team on the day of your visit.

Madame Tussauds London is accessible to all guests in a wheelchair. Due to the nature of our building, a trained member of our team will be on hand to guide you to each of the floors via our on-site lifts. You can book a free carer ticket alongside your order when purchasing a standard, Fast track or multi-attraction ticket in advance from our website. You must purchase at least 1 full-priced ticket to be able to add a carer ticket to your basket.

On the day of your visit, you must present one of the following documents as proof of eligibility:

  • Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance for children under 16 or DLA/Personal Independent Payments (PIP) for those aged 16-64, either in the form of a letter stating that the benefit has been awarded, or the actual Allowance book.
  • Attendance Allowance or Carer's Allowance letter of award
  • Incapacity Benefit books, or a letter notifying the recipient that the benefit has been awarded Incapacity Benefit, Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) Disability Students’ Allowance (DSA), or DID card (UK Disabled ID card).
  • A valid Blue Badge
  • In the case of visual impairment, a registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI)
  • Credibility’s Access Card with the carer/companion symbol
  • An International Equivalent of the Above

Terms & Conditions

  • Free carer tickets are only available when purchasing at least one full-priced ticket.
  • The carer must be 14+ years old.
  • Big Bus does not offer carer tickets. If a carer wishes to join a Big Bus tour, a standard ticket must be purchased on the Big Bus official website.

Carer tickets can be selected when purchasing any ticket, including multi-attraction tickets. These tickets provide carer access to all attractions included in your ticket.

Please bring supporting documentation, as it will be checked at each attraction. Carer tickets must be booked alongside a full-paying visitor and cannot be purchased separately. You must also book a timeslot for each attraction you plan to visit.

Important: We cannot issue carer tickets for Big Bus tours. To arrange one, please get in touch with Big Bus customer service via the Live Chat on their official website.

Yes, we have several disabled toilets available, just speak to any member of staff in the attraction who will help direct you to the nearest one or advise you in which parts of the building they are.

Yes, all assistance dogs including guide dogs are permitted within Madame Tussauds London.

Please note, they will not be able to experience the Spirit of London ride.

Madame Tussauds London is accessible to all guests in a wheelchair. To avoid disappointment, we require all wheelchair users to notify us in advance of their desired visit by pre-booking a wheelchair slot in advance online, as there is a limit on the number of wheelchairs users, we can have in the building at any one time.

Please note that the Marvel 4D Cinema Experience includes special effects that may not be suitable for all guests. These effects include flashing and strobe lighting, loud sound effects, water sprays, and visually disorienting moving images. The cinema chairs are equipped with additional sensory effects to further enhance the 4D experience. These include features such as back pokes and bursts of air. For guests who prefer not to experience the physical effects of the 4D chairs, we offer six seats with no motion or sensory effects. Additionally, there is a designated wheelchair parking area within the cinema to ensure comfort and accessibility for our wheelchair users. If you have any concerns or would like more information, our team on-site will be happy to assist you.

Regrettably, the Spirit of London ride is not accessible to guests who are unable to walk unaided. This is due to the evacuation procedures we have in place, which are designed to prioritise the health and safety of all our guests. However, we are pleased to offer a Virtual Reality alternative designed for non-ambulant guests. Please speak to a member of our team for further details.

All areas in the attraction have background music and numerous floors have strobe lighting effects, if you are concerned at any point during your visit, please speak to a member of the team on the day of your visit who will be happy to assist.

Madame Tussauds London is based in a heritage building and the attraction is set across 6 floors. In total, there are 324 steps throughout the building. We do have an accessibility lift which can assist guests who are unable to use the stairs between floors. Please speak to a member of staff on the day of your visit should you require this.

Yes, accessibility call points are located at the end of each zone throughout the attraction, and can be used by guests who require assistance. Once activated, a member of our team will be notified and respond promptly to provide support. We're committed to ensuring all guests have a comfortable and accessible experience.

Yes, our stairlifts have a maximum weight capacity of 300kg. This ensures safe and reliable operation for all users. If you have any concerns or require assistance, please speak to a member of our team prior to using the stairlift.
